Frequently Asked Questions

  • Does Peach Rose wax men?
Of course! Peach Rose is an inclusive establishment. We welcome all genders and non-binary. It is important for us to provide a safe space, so anyone can feel comfortable and welcomed. If you have hair…we want to wax it!
  • What is a Brazilian wax?
A Brazilian wax is a hair removal technique that was made popular in Brazil in the 1970’s. When full thong bikinis became popular on Brazilian beaches, the desire to remove all wanted hair “down there” did too! A Brazilian wax results in a completely hairless genital region, from front to back.
  • What is the difference between a Brazilian, Bikini, and a French Bikini
  • Why should I get a Brazilian?
Once you get consistent with your Brazilian waxes, you’ll be able to go about 4-5 weeks in between appointments. Since Brazilian waxing removes the hair from the root and doesn’t just cut the hair down like in shaving, the hair grows back much slower and thinner. Another benefit of Brazilian waxing is less ingrown hairs! It’s no secret that one of the most common areas to get ingrowns is the pubic area. The hair is typically more coarse and shaving frequently irritates it. The pores in the area get easily clogged due to unavoidable sweat buildup and friction between skin and clothes when doing any kind of movement. Although Brazilian waxes do lessen your chances of ingrowns, the area is still extremely sensitive and prone to irritation. Good pre and post-care products, like those found in our website, can help reduce that irritation greatly.
  • How can I prepare for my hair removal appointment?
    1. Avoid shaving or trimming for at least 2-3 weeks prior to appointment. 2. Exfoliate 2-3x weekly to minimize dead skin and free ingrown hairs 3. Do not apply oils, lotions, deodorant, etc prior to your appointment 4. Avoid caffeine and alcohol 24 hours prior to your appointment. stimulants in the system can cause skin to be extra sensitive to waxing 5. Pop a pain reliever 45 minutes before appoint 6. Relax and breath….it wont be as bad as you think!
  • How long will the area be red?
In most cases any redness will go away within two hours. However, clients with truly sensitive skin may notice that it takes up to a day. You can use our light weight, anti-inflammatory Yoni Oil to help get rid of the redness and irritation.
  • Will I be sore?
It would be rare that you would be “sore, or swollen or in pain” after your wax.
  • How long will the results last?
First-time clients will notice the regrowth typically from 2 to 3 weeks. When you start to regularly wax on a schedule, the length of time between waxes will get longer generally four to six weeks. After your fourth or fifth visit at 4-5 week regular intervals, all your hair will be in the same hair growth cycle and will be a good waxable, length at the same time. You will start to see the same effect as regular waxers after further appointments.
  • How can I prevent pain?
The least painful time to wax is 5-14 days after your period. Do not drink coffee or alcohol prior to your waxing appointment. Take an ibuprofen 2 hours prior to your appointment. Apply a numbing spray prior to your appointment.
  • How can I prevent ingrown hairs?
Exfoliating 2-3x weekly & moisturizing everyday. For course, thick, or curly hair it is important to apply an effective ingrown hair serum daily as the hair grows back. You can find this on our website.
  • Will it hurt less the second time?
Absolutely! Because the hair is growing back as a new hair, it is softer and thinner and has a smaller root bulb. For the least amount of pain, schedule your next appointment 4-5 weeks later
  • How often should I get a Brazilian wax?
In the first 4 months, I recommend every 4 weeks. After that every 4 to 6 weeks depending on your hair growth.
  • Can I be waxed when pregnant?
Yes. There are no restrictions on waxing when pregnant and we have lots of experience waxing heavily pregnant ladies who come in right up to their due date. Once you have given birth, you will wait til you are 6 weeks postpartum to wax again (or later if your OB says so).
  • Can I shave if I have to?
NO! Shaving, trimming, and using creams give hairs a blunt tip that feels stubbly and coarse and makes the hair easier to grow back into the skin. Hair also grows in fuller after shaving, trimming, or using creams which can lead to a more painful wax as there are more hairs to remove than compared to after a wax. We highly recommend that you never shave in between wax appointments and to stop shaving 3 weeks prior to your wax appointment.
  • Why do you use so many different types of wax?
Different types of hair need different types of wax.
  • Is sugaring better than waxing?
This depends on the client because everyone’s skin & hair type are different. Both methods, you are pulling the hairs out by the roots. The difference is that sugar irritates the skin less, is made of natural, vegan ingredients, & may result in fewer ingrown hairs. Sugar may be more uncomfortable for a first time or inconsistent waxer.
  • How can I get the best waxing results?
In the days leading up to your appointment, stop shaving or using hair removing creams, exfoliate, and moisturize
  • Do I have to trim before I come?
No. Don’t trim. Most people trim too much then the hair is too short to wax.
  • Difference between wax and sugar
There are 3 different primary types of wax: soft wax, hard wax, and sugar. Sugaring causes less irritation and is great for those with heat sensitivities or sensitive skin. It is natural and made of only 3 ingredients: sugar, lemon, and water. The hair removal process is also different than that of soft or hard waxing. Sugaring removes hair in the direction of hair growth. This minimizes breakage which means fewer ingrown hairs and possibly longer lasting results.
  • Does it hurt?!
Any hair removal from the root will come with some discomfort. However, there are several things you can do to minimize the discomfort. Don’t worry, it wont be as bad as many think it is.

  • Can I have a reoccurring appointment
Yes! Reoccurring appointments are great for those with a busy schedule or those who have a hard time being consistent with appointments. Let your specialist know what day and time you’d like to come in and how far apart you’d like your appointments to be. Ex: Sam would like to come in for their services every 5 weeks on a Wednesday at 6:30pm. Each appointment will not require a deposit. Sam will receive a reminder 72 hours prior to their appointment. Sam will also be able to reschedule or cancel if something comes up. Please note that you may not schedule reoccurring appointments if you have a No Call/ No Show or late cancellation within the past 3 months.
